Created by Registered Dietitians and a Nurse Practitioner, this course will equip AANP members and other health professionals with education to help patients achieve a healthful diet through protein consumption. Topics to be addressed include specific benefits of protein for different ages and sub-populations; recommendations for hor much protein to consume; distribution and timing of protein intake; high-quality protein sources in food; protein supplementation; and protein benefits for various health conditions/goals such as immunity, wound repair, and weight loss. In addition to highlighting the proven benefits of protein, the course will provide applicable strategies to help patients incorporate protein into meals and snacks. After taking the course, AANP members will be able to call themselves “protein pros” as they will understand how protein is critical for patients and the appropriate recommendations. The International Food Information Council Foundation is recognized by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as a Continuing Education Provider
