Science and Health Expert Tamika Sims, PhD, Joins IFIC As Director of Food Technology Communications

(Washington, D.C.)—Tamika Sims, PhD, has been named Director of Food Technology Communications at the International Food Information Council (IFIC) and IFIC Foundation.

Sims was previously Director of Human Health Policy for CropLife America, where she helped analyze the impact of regulatory initiatives on consumer health and the crop protection industry.

She also served as Director of Science and Research for the International Bottled Water Association, where she was chief staff liaison for the association’s relationships and activities with various scientific, industry, government, and academic organizations and trade associations.

A native of Atlanta, Sims received a bachelor of science degree in biology from Spelman College, a master of science degree in biomedical science (with an emphasis in microbiology) from Georgia State University, and a doctorate in virology and immunology from Morehouse School of Medicine. Her graduate research focused on HIV pathogenesis.
